We are a not-for-profit association that exists to represent the needs of our members and to further the development of obstacle sports including the development of athletes, coaches, officials and events. Obstacle Australia provides athlete representation and support for the obstacle sports community in Australia.
Our mission is to unite obstacle athletes, including recreational, youth, masters, age group and elite, represent the obstacle sports communities, and serve their needs while promoting sportsmanship and self-discipline.

As a member based not-for-profit organisation, we exist to represent the needs of our members. Please sign up to become a member, volunteer for a workgroup, and recommend Obstacle Australia membership to your friends.
Obstacle Australia is run by volunteer sport professionals, athletes, medical practitioners and event producers who are governed by an elected board. Board members are nominated by members prior to election at annual general meetings. Workgroup and committee members apply or are nominated by other members. All parties of interest invited to be involved!
A National Sports Organisation (NSO) is the national governing body for a sport or sports and is responsible for the overall administration and development of their sports. Most sports in Australia, whether they have a professional division or operate at an amateur level only, are represented by NSOs. Obstacle Australia is structured and functions in a manner that satisfies the requirements be recognized as a NSO. More information on sport structure in Australia is available here.
Board members are elected officials who run the day-to-day operations of the organization. All members volunteer their time and expertise to represent the interests of the sport and support the growth of obstacle sports.
As a not-for-profit organisation, all board, workgroup and committee members are volunteers and are not paid. Members may be entitled to be reimbursed for expenses, as long as they are pre-approved by the board.
